Family FreeRide Group

Private·1 member

Family FreeRide is a 501(c)3 non profit dedicated to getting kids, families, and communities on bikes more often through group rides and advocacy. This private group is for like minded bike enthusiasts to share information on promoting cycling in their communities and organize group rides. Please like our public non-profit page for up to date information and events on what we're doing.

In 2019 and 2020, Family FreeRide saw the need for a place for young kids to ride their bikes safely and spearheaded an effort to add a dirt pump track to the Fair Oaks Bike Park. The bike park was previously underutilized due to it's design. The addition of the pump track completely changed the use of the bike park, which now sees users from all over the Sacramento area. On a weekend, it is common for the bike park to see over a hundred visitors.

The bike park is located inside Phoenix Park and a concept design has been created to expand. Along with the Fair Oaks Bike Park, Family FreeRide is planning to work with other communities and park districts to build more bike parks so kids and adults can safely ride and build their skills on a bike.

If you have kids that ride bikes, please join our group and come on one of our monthly group rides
